Current Threats

There are a number of reasons why a small village like Bampton is constantly under threat of inappropriate  development:

• The Local Plan has not been adopted
• We are seen as village with amenities, such as a school, surgery and shops
• The current government wants to empashise growth

The SPB is not anti-growth or the building of new houses. However, we do oppose large scale developments which are imposed on us without the infrastructure to sustain them.
